ACCREDITED BY THE LOMBARDY REGION

The Silv Association is an accredited body in section A by the Lombardy Region in the clothing - fashion sector that operates in the field of training and guidance services for individuals, businesses and social organisations.

The School has been operating since January 1982 and offers professional training services, intended to satisfy the educational needs of people according to the provisions of the training programs of the Lombardy Region and following companies' recommendations. The training and/or guidance is offered following recognition of the courses pursuant to article 19/2007 of the Regional Law and the ESF.

These courses are aimed at post-compulsory and post-diploma vocational training.

THE HISTORY OF THE SILV SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

1982

Scuola Silv di Bergamo was born in January 1982 out of an idea of the Stylist/Patternmaker Fausta Pesenti Gritti, who works with professionals in the fashion sector for the design and management of the courses in the sector. The method used in the professional training of the accredited school tends to enhance creativity, art and experimentation as qualifying elements of professionalism. The first courses offered were Modelling.

Innovations

The Silv teaching innovations, from a geometric and anthropometric point of view, have made it possible to build, transform and develop any model with precision. The history of the Silv School is constantly linked to the evolution of modelling following the transition from bespoke to tailored modelling and taking into account the development of new scientific methods of size development and constant technical training.

First awards

In 1983, Silv received the "Leon d'Oro" award for having contributed to the introduction of highly qualified professionals into the world of work, while in 1984 he received the 'Bergamo che lavoro' award.

In 1989, the Silv School opens its courses to technicians sent by companies to achieve greater specialisation (they represent about 60% of the total number of students attending) and also to children with a lower high school licence, starting courses of Clothing Operator - Pattern Maker and Sartorial Packer, recognised by the Lombardy Region on the basis of Article 27 of LR95 / 80.

1994-2002

In 1994, Silv developed a Fashion Stylist and Draftsman on fabric course and obtained recognition of post-diploma specialisation courses from the Lombardy Region. Carefully following the needs of the packaging industry, in 1996, specialised Model on CAD were launched in order to provide people who are trained to meet the demands of the most advanced industry. On 19 August 2002, however, the center accredited in Bergamo receives SF3 accreditation from the Lombardy Region, published in BURL n.34 / 2002 for vocational training and guidance.

Quality certification

Finally, on 26 June 2003, the Silv School obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Certification following the certification issued by Moody International Certification, registration no. 0312249 for the EA 37 and EA 38f fields of application - Design and provision of courses for clothing operators, pattern maker, bespoke tailor, fashion designer and designer for fabric.

TRAINING AND ORIENTATION SERVICES

2004

During 2004, the accredited school in Bergamo promoted projects financed by the European Social Fund, aimed at making it easier for less well-off and disadvantaged students to access courses.

At the same time, our teaching operation is flanked by other different and integrated services:

Orientation and information, accompaniment to work.

Since the 2006/2007 training year, Scuola Silv di Bergamo has been promoting three-year experimentation projects of Qualification courses for the fulfilment of the Right Duty of Education and Professional Training (DDIF) aimed at adolescents aged between 15 and 18 and aimed at to the fulfilment of the educational obligation.

In 2008, with the issue of Regional Decree 2298 of 07/03/2008, the Silv School transformed its company form into a non-profit association and obtained accreditation in section A.

In August 2010, the Silv School Association triumphs in the Regional competition "Excellence to compete and train professionals for EXPO2015"

In June 2019 the Silv School Association received the appointment of ducal tailoring conferred by the duchy of Piazza Pontida, a historic cultural and translation association of Bergamo.

In October 2019 the Silv School Association wins the "Impresa - Ecellenze del made in Italy" award for the training of new figures in the field of fashion and innovation.

The SILV SCHOOL ASSOCIATION presents itself, after almost 40 years of activity, as a School that characterizes its offer for a consistent local roots and a variety of initiatives that take shape in 2 areas:

Training, guidance, accompaniment to work; study, research and design activities.

FACILITIES AND WORKSHOPS

At the Bergamo headquarters, on via De Amicis, Associazione Scuola Silv provides students with all air-conditioned spaces, classrooms equipped with IWBs (multimedia boards) and equipped for distance learning, facilitating learning.

In addition, the school boasts a computer lab with individual workstations, a model laboratory and video workstations for teaching in step with the times.
